Allotrope Partners consortium successfully demonstrates commercial and industrial battery energy storage system (BESS)

Recently, the Allotrope Partners consortium successfully demonstrated its battery energy storage system (BESS) at the Innovation Challenge program implemented by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Bestiani cooperated with the Allotrope Partners consortium to install and operate the system at a factory in the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park.

Increasing grid congestion has resulted in solar capacity being curtailed and not fully utilized in the power system. With the continued expansion of various renewable energy sources including rooftop solar, Vietnam needs to manage and reduce pressure on the grid.

The BESS system is one of the first energy storage systems in Vietnam, playing an important role in providing valuable services to the power system, helping the factory reduce its dependence on the grid and improve its ability to control power sources. This is a fully integrated system, automating the charging and discharging of batteries according to the time and load set initially.

Bestiani is pleased to install, test, operate and maintain the BESS system at the Sonion Vietnam factory, using a monitoring system that provides real-time and operational data. Reporting complete information on costs and financial structure, as well as economic performance. The consortium has demonstrated that BESS can be adapted to commercial applications, bringing direct benefits to customers and solving many of the energy challenges faced by manufacturing units.
